Miriam Bryant – Raised In Rain

Sometimes when I’m alone, I feel this way. The dark gets brighter than the light and it consumes me. I hear silence louder than noises. It’s those few times when we think the rain is nicer than sunshine. When being angry and sad is purely comfort. I’m not sure if anyone else ever feels the same way I do, but I guess I don’t think/feel conventionally. Sometimes it’s just better this way. Especially when you don’t expect anything, and everything would be a pleasant surprise. Not trying is somehow a sort of faith that everything will eventually gets better.

In this shallow part of town
Tired eyes and dirty minds
Chasing what we left behind

Born and raised in rain
Make me feel this way
Twenty pass forever started yesterday
I will call you shame when she knows my name
Who is braver, this won’t save her

Who is alone and made us doubt
Ah ah ah who

Lonely little dream this dream
Sleepy future passed unseen
Trying hard to get beneath
The skin you’re underneathThat undiscovered heartbeat
Takes me down my easy street
Puppets hanging from the strings
Rip them off like angel wings

Born and raised in rain
Made me feel this way
Twenty pass forever started yesterday
I will call you shame when she knows my name
Who is braver, this won’t save her

Who is alone and made us doubt
Ah ah ah who

Born and raised in rain
Made me feel this way
Yeah

Pull me out before I drown
In this shallow part of town
Tired eyes and dirty minds
Chasing what we left behind

Born and raised in rain
Make me feel this way
Twenty pass forever started yesterday
I will call you shame when she knows my name
Who is braver, this won’t save her

Who is alone and made us doubt
Ah ah ah who

Born and raised in rain
Made me feel this way
Yeah
