A very lovely song about love, for real. This track is such a soothing one from Aaliyah. A nice song to chill out to and feel good inside.

“At Your Best (You Are Love)” is a song by The Isley Brothers, originally a radio hit in 1976. It was originally dedicated to their mother.

Eighteen years later, the song was revived by American singer Aaliyah for her debut studio album Age Ain’t Nothing but a Number. Released as the album’s second single, it peaked at number six on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 and number two on the R&B singles chart, also reaching number 27 on the UK Singles Chart. The song was certified gold single by RIAA on October 25, 1994.

But at your best You are love
You’re a positive motivating force within my life
Should you ever feel the need to wonder why
Let me know, let me know…

ACAPELLA:
Let me know, let me know
Ah – ha, let me know, let me know
Let me know
VERSE 1:
When I feel what I feel
Sometimes it’s hard to tell you so
You may not be in the mood to learn what you think you know
There are times when I find
You want to keep yourself from me
When I don’t have the strength; I’m just a mirror to what I see
CHORUS:
But at your best you are love
You’re a positive motivating force within my life
Should you ever feel the need to wonder why
Let me know, let me know…
VERSE 2:
When you feel what you feel
Oh, how hard for me to understand
So many things have taken place before this love affair began
But if you feel, oh, like I feel
Confusion can give way to doubt
And there are times when I fall short of what I say,
What I say I’m all about, all about
CHORUS
BRIDGE:
Tell me what it is (Tell me what it is)
Make believe, no need to make believe
Look beyond your own (Look beyond your own)
Try and find another place for me
Cause…
CHORUS
Ah, ah, ah – ha
See, at your best baby
