Alliyah – At Your Best

Posted in Lyrics, Music Video, Personal Post, Song Comment tagged at 5:21 pm by LynxLee

A very lovely song about love, for real. This track is such a soothing one from Aaliyah. A nice song to chill out to and feel good inside.

“At Your Best (You Are Love)” is a song by The Isley Brothers, originally a radio hit in 1976. It was originally dedicated to their mother.

Eighteen years later, the song was revived by American singer Aaliyah for her debut studio album Age Ain’t Nothing but a Number. Released as the album’s second single, it peaked at number six on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 and number two on the R&B singles chart, also reaching number 27 on the UK Singles Chart. The song was certified gold single by RIAA on October 25, 1994.

But at your best You are love
You’re a positive motivating force within my life
Should you ever feel the need to wonder why
Let me know, let me know…

ACAPELLA:
Let me know, let me know
Ah – ha, let me know, let me know
Let me know
VERSE 1:
When I feel what I feel
Sometimes it’s hard to tell you so
You may not be in the mood to learn what you think you know
There are times when I find
You want to keep yourself from me
When I don’t have the strength; I’m just a mirror to what I see
CHORUS:
But at your best you are love
You’re a positive motivating force within my life
Should you ever feel the need to wonder why
Let me know, let me know…
VERSE 2:
When you feel what you feel
Oh, how hard for me to understand
So many things have taken place before this love affair began
But if you feel, oh, like I feel
Confusion can give way to doubt
And there are times when I fall short of what I say,
What I say I’m all about, all about
CHORUS
BRIDGE:
Tell me what it is (Tell me what it is)
Make believe, no need to make believe
Look beyond your own (Look beyond your own)
Try and find another place for me
Cause…
CHORUS
Ah, ah, ah – ha
See, at your best baby

The Band Perry – If I Die Young

Posted in Lyrics, Music Video, Personal Post tagged at 6:20 am by LynxLee

LoL, frankly; I kinda thought the lyrics for the starting point were.. “If I die young, bury me in silence“. =P Oh well.. the usual Goofy and blur fella – me. Anyhow, yeah I love this song. Sure, it’s a song about Death; but for some reason, it’s just such a lovely song.. isn’t it though? Love the lyrics.. seriously!

Lord make me a rainbow, I’ll shine down on my mother
She’ll know I’m safe with you when she stands under my colors, oh and
Life ain’t always what you think it ought to be, no
Ain’t even grey, but she buries her baby

If I die young, bury me in satin
Lay me down on a, bed of roses
Sink me in the river, at dawn
Send me away with the words of a love song

Uh oh, uh oh

Lord make me a rainbow, I’ll shine down on my mother
She’ll know I’m safe with you when she stands under my colors, oh and
Life ain’t always what you think it ought to be, no
Ain’t even grey, but she buries her baby

The sharp knife of a short life, well
I’ve had, just enough time

If I die young, bury me in satin
Lay me down on a, bed of roses
Sink me in the river, at dawn
Send me away with the words of a love song

The sharp knife of a short life, well
I’ve had, just enough time

And I’ll be wearing white, when I come into your kingdom
I’m as green as the ring on my little, cold finger, I’ve
Never known the lovin’ of a man
But it sure felt nice when he was holding my hand, there’s a
Boy here in town says he’ll, love my forever
Who would have thought forever could be severed by
The sharp knife of a short life, well
I’ve had, just enough time

So put on your best boys and I’ll wear my pearls
What I never did is done

A penny for my thoughts, oh no, I’ll sell them for a dollar
They’re worth so much more after I’m a goner
And maybe then you’ll hear the words I been singin’
Funny when your dead how people start listenin’

If I die young, bury me in satin
Lay me down on a, bed of roses
Sink me in the river, at dawn
Send me away with the words of a love song

Uh oh (uh, oh)
The ballad of a dove (uh, oh)
Go with peace and love
Gather up your tears, keep ’em in your pocket
Save them for a time when your really gonna need them, oh

The sharp knife of a short life, well
I’ve had, just enough time

So put on your best boys and I’ll wear my pearls

Greyson Chance – Waiting Outside the Lines

Posted in Images, Lyrics, Music Video, Personal Post tagged at 5:05 pm by LynxLee

Hey guys! This track just got way more meaningful to me last night.

Especially the part “Waiting Outside the Lines”, I mean I literally did just that. Sometimes you get so mad and all you want is just that someone to find you. All you want is to be wanted.

Sitting almost two hours in the same position and place, waiting for a miracle to happen won’t work. I guess sometimes we need to get our feet of the ground. Especially if the others are already shopping away without you. No point staying in the same vulnerable position and place.

There’s a lot of ways to perceive a 6 sided box. The world doesn’t owe you anything. In the end of the day, you know exactly what you want; and how to achieve it. You probably got what you expected already. Live your life in wealth and health.

Time to see the rainbow…

Waiting Outside the Lines is the debut single of 13-year-old singer Greyson Chance.

YouTube sensation Greyson Chance made a splash singing Lady Gaga’s “Paparazzi” (it has 32,300,000 page views and counting) some time back.

Big-time supporter DeGeneres took Chance under the wing of her record label, eleveneleven Records, last spring when he first appeared on the show, and the transformation of the young performer is impressive.

On Tuesday, October 26, Greyson Chance debuted his first single on The Ellen DeGeneres Show.

You could probably hear this on the radio already.

The world will force you to smile
I’m here to help you notice the rainbow
Cause I know,
What’s in you is out there

You’ll never enjoy your life,
living inside the box
You’re so afraid of taking chances,
how you gonna reach the top?Rules and regulations,
force you to play it safe
Get rid of all the hesitation,
it’s time for you to seize the day

Instead of just sitting around
and looking down on tomorrow
You gotta let your feet off the ground,
the time is now

I’m waiting, waiting, just waiting,
I’m waiting, waiting outside the lines
Waiting outside the lines
Waiting outside the lines

Try to have no regrets
even if it’s just tonight
How you gonna walk ahead
if you keep living behind

Stuck in my same position,
you deserve so much more
There’s a whole world around us,
just waiting to be explored

Instead of just sitting around
and looking down on tomorrow
You gotta let your feet off the ground,
the time is now, just let it go

The world will force you to smile
I’m here to help you notice the rainbow
Cause I know,
What’s in you is out there

I’m waiting, waiting, just waiting,
I’m waiting, waiting outside the lines
Waiting outside the lines
Waiting outside the lines

I’m trying to be patient (I’m trying to be patient)
the first step is the hardest (the hardest)
I know you can make it,
go ahead and take it

I’m Waiting, waiting, just waiting I’m waiting
I’m waiting, waiting, just waiting
I’m waiting, waiting outside the lines
Waiting outside the lines
Waiting outside the lines

You’ll never enjoy your life
Living inside the box
You’re so afraid of taking chances,
How you gonna reach the top?
