Lee Ann Womack – I Hope You Dance

Posted in Lyrics, Music Video, Personal Post, Song Comment tagged at 2:59 pm by LynxLee

Ronan Keating took this song & made a guy version. I thought that the new version was good.. but we all know we just can’t beat the original no matter what, right? From the words of a blog visitor of mine,
“I think the words are just amazing. If I ever have children this will be my advice to them.”.

Indeed; I agree completely. For some reason, I associated this song with a new beginning. Particularly for a person starting a new relationship after a bad one. Great lyrics. Such a caring song.. Love? Perhaps.

I’ve posted this song in my previous blog before. How does it relate to my life at that point in time? I wrote a post about it. Now you know why I didn’t post this? I did it before. It means so much to me after all these years. Love.. Let the person you love be free & happy. “Let them dance”. That’s how I see it. 🙂

Thank you Marné from South Africa for recommending me this song to be posted.

Regards,

Dan

I hope you never loose your sense of wonder
You get your fill to eat
But always keep that hunger

May you never take one single breath for granted
God forbid love ever leave you empty handed
I hope you still feel small
When you stand beside the ocean
Whenever one door closes, I hope one more opens
Promise me you’ll give faith a fighting chance

I hope you never fear those mountains in the distance
Never settle for the path of least resistance
Living might mean taking chances
But they’re worth taking
Lovin’ might be a mistake
But it’s worth making

Don’t let some hell bent heart
Leave you bitter
When you come close to selling out
Reconsider
Give the heavens above
More than just a passing glance

And when you get the choice to sit it out or dance
Dance
I hope you dance

I hope you never loose your sense of wonder
You get your fill to eat
But always keep that hunger
May you never take one single breath for granted
God forbid love ever leave you empty handed
I hope you still feel small
When you stand beside the ocean
Whenever one door closes, I hope one more opens
Promise me you’ll give faith a fighting chance

And when you get the choice to sit it out or dance
I hope you dance
I hope you dance

I hope you never fear those mountains in the distance
Never settle for the path of least resistance
Living might mean taking chances
But they’re worth taking
Lovin’ might be a mistake
But it’s worth making
Don’t let some hell bent heart
Leave you bitter
When you come close to selling out
Reconsider
Give the heavens above
More than just a passing glance

And when you get the choice to sit it out or dance
I hope you dance
(Time is a real and constant motion always)
I hope you dance
(Rolling us along)
I hope you dance
(Tell me who)
I hope you dance
(Wants to look back on their youth and wonder)
(Where those years have gone)

I hope you still feel small
When you stand beside the ocean
Whenever one door closes, I hope one more opens
Promise me you’ll give faith a fighting chance

And when you get the choice to sit it out or dance
Dance
I hope you dance
I hope you dance
(Time is a real and constant motion always)
I hope you dance
(Rolling us along)
I hope you dance
(Tell me who)
(Wants to look back on their youth and wonder)
I hope you dance
(Where those years have gone)

(Tell me who)
I hope you dance
(Wants to look back on their youth and wonder)
(Where those years have gone)
